Interesting
The picturesque medieval town of Barga occupies an attractive site on a plateau on the northern slopes of the Serchio valley, which it controlled in the Middle Ages. Its castle ("castello") is in fact its upper town, a medieval district of steep, narrow streets which wind their way behind the remains of the town walls dominated by its magnificent cathedral.
