Church of St Mary of the Thorn
The white, light Church stands on the quayside of the Arno. It is sculpted with spires, gables, pinnacles, niches and rose windows and is a real jewel which was designed to house a thorn from Christ's crown. Originally built at river level and then rebuilt brick by brick on its current site in 1871, the church is a charming picture of harmony and simplicity.
