Situated 51km south-west of Padua and well worth a visit, this small town is still surrounded by its impressive 14C ramparts, which are reinforced with 24 polygonal towers. The town's cathedral (attributed to Sansovino) houses a Transfiguration by Veronese, frescoes and two beautiful frescoes of Judith and David by Giorgione. The church of San Francesco next door is also interesting and boasts a lovely Gothic bell tower.
