Church of St Zeno Maggiore
Built on a basilica type plan, this is one of the most attractive Romanesque churches in northern Italy. Its 12C Lombard Romanesque style is evident in the decor of Lombard bands and arcading on the façade and the elegant alternating brick and stone courses on the side walls and bell tower. Note the fine bronze doors and, inside, above the splendid main altar, the triptych by Mantegna (1459).
