Bassano del Grappa's Town Museum

Located in the convent next to San Francesco church, this museum is home to an art gallery dedicated to the works of the Da Ponte family, artists from Bassano. Their most famous descendent was Jacopo Bassano, active in the 16C and Louis XIV's favourite artist; note his painting St Valentine baptising St Lucy. The gallery also exhibits works by Venetian painters such as Vivarini, Pietro Longhi, Tiepolo and two beautiful works by the Genoese Magnasco.
