Latvian Open-Air Ethnographic Museum
Set in 87ha of pine forest, this museum founded in 1824 reconstructs the living conditions of the various populations and ethnicities living in Latvia's four main regions (Latgale, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Kurzeme). In order to do so, it has amassed a collection of 120 authentic buildings forming four villages. The park comes to life at weekends when the houses are opened and craftsmen get to work. It doesn't get more authentic than this!
