Marsaxlokk ('haven from the sirocco') is Malta's largest fishing harbour. It is set in the rear of a bay planted with palm trees, where the Ottoman fleet disembarked during the Great Siege. Best seen in the morning when the luzzu, small traditional colourful fishing boats, sail into the port. After a stroll around the lively market, head to Peter's Pool for a refreshing swim. This limestone creek, carved by the sea, forms a stunning natural swimming pool.
