Oostmahorn

Oostmahorn
The Essential
Oostmahorn is a small village built on the Lauwersmeer, a former gulf of water that was enclosed by a dyke in 1969 and transformed into a popular recreational lake. It boasts a pleasant overall view of the bay and is the starting-point for several excursions into the Lauwersmeer national park, home to migratory birds and the perfect place to admire the night sky, when darkness is total here.
