Western Church (Westerkerk)

Interesting
This Gothic-Renaissance-style church was built in the 1620s by Pieter de Keyser, who followed plans drawn up by his brother Hendrick. It is the most important Protestant church in the city and Rembrandt is buried here. The bell tower is 85m/278ft tall and has a remarkable peal of bells by François Hémony. The generously-dimensioned interior is worth a visit.
