Teylers Museum

Interesting
This museum, the oldest public museum in the Netherlands (1779), was created thanks to the legacy of P. Teyler van der Hulst, an 18C Haarlem manufacturer of broadcloth and silk goods. Its beautiful rooms, which preserve the charm of the past (Ovale Zaal), house varied collections including fossils and minerals, physics instruments, 2,500 drawings (Dutch masters, Italian school), paintings (Romanticism, The Hague school).
