Westfries Museum (West Friesland Museum)
This Baroque building dates back to 1632. Its tall façade with coloured coats of arms and cornices topped with lions is noteworthy. The rooms decorated with fine furnishings and objets d'art reproduce the refined setting of the luxurious interiors of the 17C and 18C. The admiralty room contains models and weapons, as well as a portrait of Admiral Bossu. But the painting View of Hoorn (1622), by Hendrick Cornelisz, is of particular interest.
