Grote of St-Michaëlskerk
This Protestant hall church with three naves was built over the period from 1406 and 1446. It no longer has its traditional large bell tower, which succumbed to a series of disasters. Especially worthy of mention is the carved pulpit from the early 17C and the organ case from 1721. The excellent organ is by the brothers Schnitger from Groningen. The pretty little building with a decorated pediment on the left of the fine north portal is the Hoofdwacht, or guardhouse.
