Narvik

Narvik
The Essential
This modern, industrial town that grew out of an iron-ore mine is one of the northernmost in the world, although it has a relatively mild climate for its latitude, thanks to the Gulf Stream. The town boasts a superb setting at the mouth of a fjord surrounded by mountains, which can be admired from its cable car. The gateway to the islands of Lofoten and Vesterålen, Narvik is now a tourist destination both in winter (thanks to its ultra-modern ski resort) and in summer.
