Fram Museum

Recommended
This museum tells the story of polar conquest through the ship the Fram, which was specially built for the explorer, Fridtjof Nansen, (1861-1930) to be raised by the ice floes. You will learn about the different explorers, expeditions and the teams' daily lives. An underground passageway leads to a large room dedicated to the Gjøa, a herring fishing boat that enabled Roald Amundsen (1872-1928) to sail through the Northwest Passage between 1903 and 1906.
