Karl-Johans Gate

Interesting
Running from the Royal Palace to the main railway station, Karl Johans Gate is the most famous and busiest thoroughfare in Oslo. It serves (directly or in immediate proximity) all the official buildings: the cathedral, Parliament, the university, the National Theatre... and the Royal Castle. The first half of its length is a pedestrian zone lined with grand hotels and fashionable cafés; it heads into the palace gardens, ending at the statue of King Charles XIV John.
