Imposing wrought-iron gates protect the entrance to Vigeland Park, itself located in the vast Froger Park. It was designed by Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943), who died a year before this 20-year project was completed. Over the course of that time he created and organised his world of giants, who are so close to us in their feelings and desires, while being so far from us in their physical form. Housed in the artist's former studio, Vigeland-Museet contains drawings, woodcuts, casts and preparatory sketches.
