Rynek Glowny (Rynek)

Highly recommended
The market square is the heart of the city, which, like a magnet, will always draw you back; it was the religious, economic and political centre of medieval Kraków. The Rynek remains the nerve centre of tourists' experience of Kraków today. This vast 200m-long expanse (4ha area) is a rare surviving example of original medieval urban planning. Framed by 47 façades, it is home to the haughty Church of Our Lady.

Our reports

Cracow, the real capital of Poland

There’s no escaping the clichés, Cracow is a pure gem, a little Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque jewel. Poland’s former capital city is, beyond question, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978, it is readily compared with Prague, but is a little less touristy.
