Sanok was renowned in the 19C for its coach and cart building activities, before expanding in the 20C into the fields of motor engines and rubber manufacture. Industrial decline in the late 20C has forced Sanok to refocus its development. Thanks to a rich cultural and religious heritage, plus its geographical location making it the perfect base from which to explore the Bieszczady region (popular with Polish, Slovakian and Ukrainian visitors), Sanok is poised to enjoy a bright future.
