Nestled at the foot of the mountain, this attractive village was the stronghold of the Lăzar family who played an important role in Transylvania's Székely community. It was Prince Itsvan IV Lăzar who rebuilt the family castle in Renaissance style and who founded the Franciscan monastery here in 1642. The castle is now home to an art and cultural centre, comprising an archaeological collection, art gallery, museum, and a fine ethnographic exhibition on Székely folk art in the courtyard.
