The best way to explore the Kremlin's fortifications, triangular shaped brick ramparts dotted with towers, is to follow the itinerary that runs alongside the river as far as Red Square, and then alongside the walls that border the Alexander Gardens, from where you can enter the fortress. The view of the whole complex from the opposite bank of the Moskova is impressive, as is that from the Great Stone Bridge and the Great Moscow Bridge.
