Levoča Old Town Hall
In the central square, the former 16C town hall houses an outpost of the Spiš Museum, which is dedicated to the history of the city. It was considerably transformed in 1615 by the creation of the present south wing and two-storey arcade galleries. In 1656-61, the tower was erected as a belfry. Next to it, the Cage of Shame is thought to date from the 16C; it was used to punish people who committed minor offences.
