Lower quarter, Sanlúcar de Barrameda
The Sanlúcar de Barrameda neighbourhood, which unfurls between calle Ancha and the Guadalquivir, developed in the 16C. Notice the Plateresque style of the balustrades and inner windows of the church, Santo Domingo, which once belonged to the old monastery. A fine doorway leads to a cloistered courtyard (compas). Plaza San Francisco is fronted by the impressive bulk of the 17C church of the same name.
