Marchena

Marchena
The Essential
Located in the heart of the Seville countryside, halfway between Carmona and Osuna, Marchena is the birthplace of José Tejada Marín, alias Pepe Marchena (1903-76), a famous and almost legendary singer who revolutionised flamenco. This small town is worth a stop, if only to admire the San Juan Bautista church. As you stroll through the town you will also discover interesting historical vestiges, including walls, doors and Almohad fortifications.
