Church of St John the Baptist

Recommended
This Mudéjar-style church (1490) stands out for the works of art on display, the most remarkable of which is the sumptuous retable in the presbytery, painted by Alejo Fernández and sculpted by his brother Jorge. Note also the grille enclosing the high altar, the mahogany and cedar choir stalls sculpted by Jerónimo de Balbás, and the sculpted retable in the Capilla del Sagrario by Roque Balduque and Jerónimo Hernández.
