Housed in the former convent of the Merced Order, it provides an overview of Seville's painting from the 15C-20C. In the splendid setting of the former church is Zurbarán's masterpiece, The Triumph of St Thomas Aquinas, and an extraordinary collection of works by Murillo, including a huge Immaculate Conception. One room is devoted to Francisco de Zurbarán, whose rendering of the garments of Christ is unparalleled, as demonstrated by the splendid Crucifixion.
