On a promontory still surrounded by fortified walls, Ainsa, one of the loveliest towns in the Pyrenees, overlooks the confluence of the River Cinca and River Ara. In the 11C the town was the capital of a small kingdom. Nowadays, Ainsa is very much geared up for tourism. The streets paved with irregular stone and well-maintained houses provide the backdrop for a pleasant stopover in between hikes in the Ordesa National Park.
