Menorca, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, is the second largest and second most populous of the Balearic Islands. It managed to remain at a remove from the tourism boom of the 1960s and thus safeguard its lovely coastline, dotted with crystalline-watered creeks and picturesque little villages, from excessive development. But nowadays more and more holidaymakers are venturing here to enjoy the magical location, the sun, water sports and tasty food.
