Interesting
It was on account of its strategic position at the entrance to the valley that this village was fortified in the Middle Ages. Salardú is an attractive small town of granite and shale houses that grew up around Església de Sant Andrèu, a typical late-Romanesque church (13C) with three aisles and three apses, and a 15C octagonal-based bell tower. It boasts a remarkable 12C sculpture of Christ, the extremely anatomically realistic, 65cm-tall Majestat de Salardú (12C).
