This industrial town (textile, paper, metalworks, sweets) has an exceptional location at the confluence of three rivers (Serpis, Molinar and Barchell) amidst a stunning mountain landscape. In late April, Alcoi celebrates the Moors and Christians Festival (Festa de Moros y Cristianos), in memory of a battle in 1276 that ended in the victory of the Christians following the miraculous appearance of Saint George. At Christmas, the Three Kings parade creates an almost magical atmosphere that pervades every corner of the town.
