National Museum

Sweden's foremost fine art museum has since 1866 been sited in this Italian Renaissance-style building. Its important artworks cover the period from the early Renaissance to the 20C. It includes the finest collection anywhere ofSwedish paintings , works from otherNordic countries , anddecorative arts from the 1930s to the end of the 20C. Carl Gustav Tessin was the patron behind the collection of 18CFrench paintings - the pride of the museum.
