Built in 1907, this magnificent replica of a Renaissance palace is home to Scandinavia's largest cultural history museum, founded by Artur Hazelius. The collections here cover every Nordic country and represent everyday life and working conditions from 1520 to the present day. Upstairs, a permanent exhibition presents a detail insight into the work of the painter and author August Strindberg. The Nordic Museum is a logical complement to the Skansen open-air museum.
