Geneva's Art and History Museum

Recommended
Thanks to its rich collections (including sections devoted to archaeology and 15-19C painting), the museum aims to give visitors an overview of the history of civilisations and arts. You can admire Konrad Witz's famous altarpiece (1444) depicting the Miraculous Draught of Fishes. An 18C Genevan pastel artist, Liotard, deserves a special mention. As for the 19C, the museum takes you from the landscapes of Corot to the Impressionist movement, with Pissarro, Monet and Renoir.
