Geneva
The Essential
Highly recommended
At the south-west end of Lake Geneva, the city enjoys an exceptional and well-preserved site and it is a pleasure to wander around its varied and lively districts. From Eaux-Vives to Carouge, via Pâquis or the historic town, Geneva quickly reveals itself to be much more than a city of clichés. It is of course amply endowed in chocolate- and watch-makers, but its cosmopolitanism will astound more than one. Over half the population is non-Swiss, ensuring the city is both open to and in tune with the world of today.
