Delémont
The Essential
Until 1792, Delémont was the summer residence of the prince-bishops of Basel and their emblematic stick figures in the town's coat of arms. In 1978, it became the capital of the new Jura canton and is currently famous for its clock making and precision engineering industry. The historic town boasts an outstanding town hall, Renaissance fountains and handsome 18C buildings.
