Aigle

Aigle
The Essential
Aigle is a wine-producing and industrial centre at the confluence of the Rhone and Ormonts valleys. This pleasant little plain town is flanked by mountains and vineyards. The shaded Gustave Doret path by the Grande Eau torrent is ideal for leisurely walks, as is the Rue de Jérusalem in the centre, lined in historic houses linked by footbridges. To the east of the town, the castle and church of St Maurice, Gothic steeple, are well worth the detour.
