Moudon
The Essential
Moudon enjoyed a golden age of prosperity when it was the capital of the Vaud region at the time of the counts of Savoy (14C). Most of the sights that endow today's town with its medieval character date from this period. From the bridge over the Broye, you will see a pretty view with the church of St Stephen in the foreground and 15, 16 and 17C houses dotted over the hillside in the background. The hill is crowned by the castle of Carrouge and two stately homes.
