Hull, officially Kingston upon Hull, is a major port, which once specialised in whaling. The Old Town, which lies between the River Humber and River Hull, was surrounded by walls and a moat. It has retained cobbled streets and inns from the Middle Ages and 17C. Most of Hull's docks were built along the east wall in the Georgian era. Designated the UK's cultural capital in 2017, it has been prompted to restore the Holy Trinity Church and install contemporary works of art in the town centre.
