Southwark Cathedral

Recommended
The Church of St Saviour and St Mary-from-over-the-water became a cathedral in 1905 when the diocese of Southwark was founded (it had previously been part of the diocese of Winchester). The church has been renovated several times: the Gothic arcading at the entrance and the chancel date from the 13C, while the 12 keystones of the vault at the front of the left side aisle come from the 15C roof which was destroyed in 1830.
