Vindolanda is made up of two sites. Life-size reconstructions have been created of a section of Hadrian's Wall: a stone tower, a wall made from earth blocks (the early border), and a wooden fortified defensive post. In addition to the metal, bone and stone objects on display, the museum exhibits an interesting collection of writing tablets, leather articles, fabrics and wooden objects.
