Housed in a pink and grey granite building designed by AM Mackenzie, this collection focuses on contemporary art. The Scottish collection, meanwhile, presents works by artists such as William McTaggart, whose style calls to mind the Impressionists. Representative of the artistic world in the 19C is the Macdonald Collection of 92 portraits by British artists. There are large-scale sculptures on display in the courtyard and adjacent rooms.
