The Essential
Interesting

This remote and windswept island off the southwest tip of the Isle of Mull is one of the most venerated places in Scotland. More than 1 400 years ago, St Columba and his companions landed on the southern coast of this Inner Hebrides island and established a monastic settlement. Today, its modest ruins are an important place of pilgrimage.
