Glenrothes
The Essential
Glenrothes is one of the five new towns created in Scotland after World War II. Originally designed to serve the important local coal mining sector, the town is now a hub of modern industry (hi-tech electronics) and benefits from numerous leisure facilities. A wide selection of outdoor works of art, mostly by local contemporary artists, brighten up the urban landscape.
