Kellie Castle and Gardens
It is in fact a laird's house, an example of traditional Scottish architecture in the 16 and 17C. After a period of neglect, it was fortunately leased to Sir Robert Lorimer, the architect of the Chardon Chapel. Thanks to the architect and his brother and also Hew Lorimer, the sculptor, the castle was restored to its former glory. The 17C plasterwork ceilings are worthy of note, particularly the one in the Vine Room.
