Hunterian Museum

A renowned doctor, anatomist and pioneering obstetrician, William Hunter (1718-83) was also a great collector. His collection of coins and medals may no longer be on display today, but the museum has the appeal of a cabinet of curiosities, with sections dedicated to archaeological digs undertaken along the Antonine Wall, minerals, dinosaurs and British prehistory.
