The Essential
The village of Rowardennan, with its scattering of houses, is tucked away in the trees overlooking Loch Lomond: the setting is magnificent. There are two beaches where you can swim off the pier in summer, as well as a campsite, youth hostel and hotel. Most importantly, here lies the park's most famous track (it clocks up 30 000 walkers every year), which leads to Ben Lomond.
