The Essential
Recommended
Situated on a rocky headland, this little medieval town offers all the attractions of a seaside resort in a harmonious and compact fashion, with a seafront worthy of a picture postcard. Dinbych-y-Pysgod (the "little fort of the fish") originated in a small Welsh fortress perched on Castle Hill. Later, the castle became a satellite of the Norman stronghold at Pembroke, was sacked by the Welsh, then rebuilt with surrounding ramparts.
