Temple of the Winds

Recommended
A late-18C annexe of the aristocratic house Mount Stewart, the Temple of the Winds was part of a broader project that was never completed. Imitating the Tower of the Winds in Athens to serve as a place for diversion and a banquet hall, its elegant Classical silhouette stands on a headland in an idyllic spot looking out to Strangford Lough. Take in the inlaid wooden flooring before visiting the dark and cramped servants' quarters in the basement.
