Limavady
The Essential
Standing on the banks of the River Roe, in the Sperrin Mountains, Limavady was once supplied by a hydro-electric power station by the river. It is the former stronghold of the O'Cahans, and its name is of Gaelic origin, Leim an Mhadaidh, meaning "Leap of the Dog".
