This immense and pleasant zoo is home to a rich diversity of animals from all over the world. Colourful butterflies and birds flutter in the tropical greenhouse, while the prehistoric park recreates western Canada as it might have looked at the era of the dinosaurs, with life-size reproductions of these giant creatures. The Canadian Wilds section introduces the visitor to the habitats of western Canada. The zoo is particularly distinguished by its work in breeding endangered whooping cranes and Vancouver Island marmots.
