Marine Building (Vancouver)

Interesting
The historic 21-storey building, built at a time when Canada was in the depths of the Great Depression and inaugurated in 1930, is one of the finest examples of Art Deco in the world. The ceramic ornamentation, in particular over the entrance, depict maritime scenes in tribute to Vancouver's close ties with the sea. The almost phantasmagoric lobby is reminiscent of a Maya temple.
